Résumé : |
Born out of a willingness to act, create and mobilise with others in the midst of frustration and the exacerbated inequalities, particularly for Black and People of Colour (BPoC) More Than Talk emerged.
After a series of conversations and debates about the state of play for BPoC communities accessing sexual health and reproductive health care during the pandemic. I became acutely aware of my position as a service user and provider and wanted space to reflect on what this meant for me. To my surprise, so did others, despite the chaos of the pandemic, we’ve found space, time and energy to write, share and learn with each other about what has brought us to work in this field.
From chapters on understanding the impact of colonial legacies on sexuality and sexual identity formation to understanding how social scripts form sexual attitudes and behaviour amongst different groups alongside understanding how participating and investing in research to improve service design and delivery for BPoC can create better sexual health outcomes.
With the strength of community, willingness to explore creativity and the intention to reflect on our practice and contribute to knowledge production, these are our stories. |
